This necklace highlights the rich hues of ochres, greens, and lilacs of a chalcedony-quartz mineral known as Fancy Jasper. It is largely mined from Brazil and Africa, but has been found all over the world and has been used for centuries by various cultures for ornamentation as well as religious art. Different levels of oxide and trace minerals, like quartz and calcite, present in this stone are responsible for its patterns of color. Accented with metal beads and black seed beads. This gemstone has a hardness of 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale, which makes it relatively durable and resistant to scratching.
